Behold His Majesty!

“On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.” (Psalm 145:5)

The other night I was blown away by the beatiful display of lightning that was being put on. I love a good thunderstorm. It is one of those things in which I see the majesty, power, and beautiful glory of God. I couldn’t help but go outside and watch our Creator at work. I couldn’t help but worship Him.

So, in what ways do you most see God? What makes you go “WOW!” God is amazing! What causes you to worship The Almighty?

    Amen, Miah!!! I love babies!!!!
Something somewhat related to babies that has me utterly amazed is how intricate the human body is. Last year I took Anatomy and Physiology at CSI and am currently taking Psychology and Microbiology. Every angle you look at it, there is no question we are created. Everything from our brain function, heart beat, all the systems in our body, the miracle of actually conceiving and then the development, birthing, growing, and on and on. There is no way we could have evolved from nothing. We have an awesome creator who made every perfect detail! We are truly “fearfully and wonderfully made!!!”

what made me go wowwww!!! was when a lightning bolt hit right behind my house. the lightning hit a transformer on a pole right behind our house. the power went out and sparks flew. the sky was so bright we could not see for a few seconds i thought the rapture was here. i’ve never been that close to strike before. nor do i ever want to see that again. its one thing to say the power of God is awesome, but to see it and here it so close. that really put the fear of God in me. i prayed all night, but i didnt tell my wife i was scared out of my mind i kept my cool.

    signed i still have hair.

yes, thunderstorms are one of those things that make me go wow! I LOVE THEM ALOT! Espically the ones I expierened in Oklahoma! But living here in beautiful Idaho, is our waterfalls. I havd never seen one in person untill we moved here. They are so beautiful and majestic. And it makes me think that just as the waterfall spills over and pours out into the lakes and rivers below, God’s love. mercy and grace spill over and pour out on us from heaven above.

I have had the honor and privilege to see each one of my grandchildren progress month after month in the womb. The secret place where God is still knitting them together. Where he is speaking to them in a special way, giving them unique attributes and personalities. We have watched them yawn, suck their thumbs, hiccup and seen the contour of their little cheek before they were ever touched by human hands… To me, there is nothing that speaks more amazingly to me than how God accomplishes a perfect human body in any time at all let alone the 9 months it takes. Talk about Majesty….. You know what I mean, don’t you Mike? This… makes me want to worship!

It is amazing to see the little guy growing inside of mom. He is always moving and kicking. It’s incredible.

I can’t wait to be a dad! What an experience it will be.

The biggest wow! in my life has definatly been my daughter! Luella. Since the moment she was born I have been able to see God’s amazing hand in this world. Also, the amazing natural beauty that He has put on this earth for us to enjoy. Dan and I just got back from Yellowstone National Park and that is a big WOW! I just kept saying how amazing that place was and how uniquely God’s hand in it all. If we just slow down long enough to see any of it, we will see it everywhere. The other is relationships we have with others. Priceless! Reconsiliation! WOW!

the other day i was driving from pocatello to twin falls and looking at the horizon i noticed how amazing the clouds were, and my wife and I were just blessed because we realized that God made the clouds in this way for us to see, possibly just for us. It really blew me away. oh yeah and standing on the roof of the church during a lightning storm with some of your best friends is also very cool.

I am just amazed! At Him and at everything. From the smallest detail in nature, to the smallest hand i have ever held, to the largest sacrifice He made, to His breathe in my life every second of every day. My heart is His and in His hands I know it won’t shatter, that amazes me.

“Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.”

  15. Mandie on October 14th, 2008 2:59 pm

Ben, if I am not mistaken, beer was made by man, not God!
This weekend, I was watching the snow falling all around me. It’s amazing to think that no two flakes are alike. Each one is unique and different and special in it’s own way. There is something so serene about watching them fall to the ground so silently and softly that just catches my breath sometimes.

Hey Benjamin, why not Abraham Lincoln? Alcohol is a destroyer of people and of families. I grew up listening to my father beat on my mother because he was drunk. I watch my husband change before my eyes because he is drunk. My father was found dead behind Shucks 4 years ago with a tall boy in his hand. Guess what, his liver went out and his heart exploded. God has nothing to do with alcohol. I apologize if i am being rude but this subject is very sensitive to me. Quit while you still have a life left. It’s funnier to be sober, trust me i was a meth addict. And Jesus is the only one who can set you free. That’s serious and it’s the truth. God bless!

When I was living in Colorado my dog Toby and I would climb a peak above my house every morning and we would just walk around enjoying the “morning on the mountain”. We would then just stand at the edge and look eastward and watch the sun come up over the peaks opposite us. One morning as the sun came up it was so magnificant that this wave of emotion came over me and I realized that WOW the rocks aren’t just crying out in praise for their creator they are screaming. Well they were not going to outdo me; I began to just scream and yell and dance and clap as I watched the sun rise (Toby thought I was nuts). I heard the coyotes singing to the heavens and wathched the eagles sore along the river and the chimpmunks and squirrels were in fine voice. Evolution? Big Bang? No way!!!!!!

What makes me go wow is the intense blessings that the lord gives us.

When he touches are heart and tears fill our eyes.

When we feel that deep love for our childeren that is so heart felt that it could only come from god.

A rush of the holy spirit in church that makes your whole body tingle.

And all the good that comes from an unwanted evil self and others.

God bless all you lighthouse cyber space brothers and sisters.

Mandie…that is so awesome. I’ve always thought the same way about snowflakes. I love watching it snow thinking about all those little snowflakes and how pretty they are, and how they’re all different. Just like the people God has created. You know that saying…”God is in the details”. The snowflake just sums that up for me. I’ve seen some beautiful sunrises that have made me gasp. I think my most AWEsome moment..and this may be kind of wierd…but I took my kids to see that waterfall that’s down the canyon by the golf course. We walked down behind it and no one else was there. It was a hot summer day and the spray of it felt so good, but for some reason I was just overcome by a sense of His glory. I couldn’t help but raise my hands and put my face in it and worship Him. It was like a baptism of sorts. My kids thought it was the coolest thing they’ve ever experienced. I love those moments when God speaks to my soul….
