The Gift Of Faith
Unwrapping the Gift of Faith (Luke 1:26-45 & Luke 2:1-7)
Faith is unwrapped by Acting despite being Afraid (Luke 1:38)
Faith is unwrapped by Believing despite not Seeing (Luke 1:45)
Faith is unwrapped by Being Content despite bad Circumstances (Luke 2:1-7)
If you had one of your friends tell you the story in Luke 1:26-38, you would probably be pretty skeptical of your friend. And your friend, if they had this happen to them, would probably be pretty skeptical about anyone believing them. Now, I want you to imagine for a moment Mary, a young teen girl, who finds herself with child conceived of the Holy Spirit told to her by an angel. Instead of running away,
Instead of complaining about the situation, “why Me!” She says, “May it be to me as you have said.” (Luke 1:38) She acted in spite of her fear
And that is the main thing we need to learn about growing in faith.
Faith is unwrapped by Acting despite being Afraid.
We need to pray for unwavering faith like Mary.

Thanks, Kevin… Great post, Great reminder. I am going to love this new Blog. I think we forget that about the virgin birth… The Angel did not stand with Mary at the city gates and proclaim her honor, validate her virginity. Instead she bore the burden of her honor, with humility and with some degree of shame. She and God knew the truth and for a while, no one else did. Can’t imagin.. but it helps me to remember that when I feel God prompting me to act in an unpopular arena… :0)

Kevin, very happy to see a study blog from you.
I am sure almost nobody believed Mary that didn’t have a STRONG faith. Those with SOME faith probably didnt believe her either. A strong faith will show you truth and clarity. I think faith comes from the heart and I truly believe all things are possible through our lord jesus. Small miracles happen all the time we just have to have enough faith to open our eyes and see them. I think we all have certain sins that we accept or do that more faith would fix. Keeping God close definatly makes our faith strong.
I love blogging, I will blog again after I do the study.
Great reponse Susan…thanks for the input. cpumba, I’m glad God is more of a factor this year during Christmas for you. He truly is the reason for the season…

Hey Kevin,
I have some time on my hands since we are not that busy right now and I love blogging. Believe it or not it is making my walk much closer to our lord. I am thinking of him and how he would want me to live and react constantly. It is a very good thing for me. I wish more people would get addicted. It creates a passion in me that is good.
Peace and love brother.
whewww!! I just had to check and make sure Keith didn’t mention anything about Santa in the “GIFT of Faith” blog. Good job, Keith!! lol

Wow the Lord must have something to say to me today. I was just talking with my daughter yesterday about this very point. How hard it must have been for Mary living in a place and time void of Grace and filled with legalism. I am sure that she was marked by her community and carried that mark to her grave by all those who were not converted anyway. Fortunatly for most of us we are on a slower pathway of faith. I am sorta like Jacob converted 33 years ago but only wrestled 5 years ago. The wrestling is when your walk changes. For some it takes longer than others. Mary was an amazing girl and the Lord used her in a most glorious way
Limps are highly underrated. Every Christian ought to have one….g
