The Boy Becomes a Man

Danny Braga has more than a little prophet edge in him. While he was our youth pastor here at LCF, he would not infrequently breath out fire and brimstone in his messages to the kids. But last night I listened to a man full of grace and compassion as he ministered the Word of the Lord to a bunch of grieving folks. Danny gave a beautiful message from John 11.

Last night I saw the boy become a man…..and I the teacher became the student. God bless you, Danny. I am really proud of you in the Lord!

I remember many years ago when Danny first started teaching the BIble for the LCF college group. The group met in our home. Danny would have pages and pages of handwritten notes, and sitting on the floor of our living room, he would read the notes usually word for word. Sometimes his hands would tremble, and sometimes he’d forget to look up.

Oh but those times were sweet! I love to recall those days, particularly after listening to one of his teachings now. Damon and I also listened to him last night. We too were blessed by his compassion and his reminder that we cannot escape death in this world. So many times, whether it was his Sunday night teachings before he left, or his recent teachings for his Taproot flock, I just cry while I listen. God is so good. . .and we are blessed to call Dan Braga our dear son-in-law.

When danny preaches or even just speaks it is

obvious that the lord has blessed him with a

    great gift.

What would it be like to have that tallent and be

that blessed? A much clearer vision of the lords

    will I am sure.

Yeah….. I have been reminded lately that God doesn’t not call the few the proud…. but the ill equipped, humble in heart. And then HE equips them. Through their open, humble hearts, God begins his refining work. I remember the bible college days with Danny and Lex. Those were very good times. It’s where we learned Gut-Honesty…

Even more pointedly, I remember when Greg appointed Brian Nickens to become his associate Pastor in Kimberly. Funny, I was just reflecting on how much I have learned watching Brian grow in the Lord..and that was my thought. It amazes me and humbles me each time I hear him teach. AND… it gives me hope knowing that God really does see through what we present on the outside and into the very heart of an individual. HE gives us the desire of our heart, and then He goes to work to make it happen. Isn’t that great news for all of us?

South Carolina was to be the first state to offer the christian license plate, [ I BELIEVE ] a group that advocates the seperation of church and state has filed a law suit to shoot this down. South Carolina was to be the first of many to offer this christian license plate.

The seperation of church and state has been very devastating for a country that was founded on christian principles. As the people i think we need to protect our country from the immense amount of christian principles that are shot down in this country and prevent any more [ SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE TYPE LAWS FROM HAPPENING ]
